The Worlds 2024 location is heading west — and will take place in the European region.

The finals will be held at The O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom, in November 2024.

The venue was officially revealed during the Worlds 2023 finals broadcast on November 19.

The O2 Arena, located in Greenwich Peninsula, London, is renowned for hosting diverse events, including concerts, sports competitions, and entertainment shows.

It boasts the second-highest seating capacity of any indoor venue in the United Kingdom, surpassed only by the Manchester Arena. In 2008, it held the title of the world’s busiest music arena.

The O2 Arena was the venue for the 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, as well as the 2009 Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Finals, marking the culmination of the ATP Tour season.

In 2024, it will be the venue for the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds 2024) finals, the biggest, most prestigious event of League’s competitive season.

Riot Games selects different cities around the world to host the World Championship each year. These cities are typically major esports hubs or have a strong gaming community. The selection allows fans from various regions to attend and participate in the event.

The tournament has been hosted in the European region on multiple occasions. The very first Worlds took place in Sweden at DreamHack Summer 2011. Subsequent European hostings include 2015 and 2019 when the LEC favorites, G2 Esports, came close to achieving a Golden Road, akin to a grand slam in sports terminology. However, their pursuit was halted by FunPlus Phoenix, who claimed the trophy in the end.
