In what might be the best game of the 2023 NFL regular season, the NFC-champion Eagles will host the high-flying Dolphins in the Week 7 edition of Sunday Night Football (8:20 p.m. ET, NBC). Traditional bettors will have a difficult time picking a winner in this one, all the more reason for us to head over to FanDuel to create a DFS lineup. Today we will go over the top DFS options for this interconference clash, and hopefully help you land some daily fantasy cash.
Jalen Hurts and the Eagles have come out of the gates strong for the second year in a row, albeit not quite as strong as their 8-0 start a season ago. Philly is 5-1 with the third-most points in the NFC, with Nick Sirianni’s squad looking to bounce back from an ugly first loss to the Zach Wilson-led Jets last week.
The Dolphins have an ugly loss on their early-season resumé, too — a 48-20 Week 4 pounding served up by the division-rival Bills. Take that game away and we’re talking about Miami being one of the most dominant teams in NFL history. Mike McDaniel’s squad has rallied through injuries to post a historic 223 points through six games (seventh-most all-time through six games).
Unless we get a freaky-deaky tie at the end of this primetime battle, one of these two teams will emerge with a sixth win and one will walk away with its second loss. It’s a tough game to handicap from a traditional betting perspective, but we love our chances of finishing in the money in our FanDuel DFS tournaments.
Let’s get to our FanDuel lineup for Eagles vs. Dolphins, and explain our strategy with each draft selection. Good luck, have fun, and enjoy what should be an instant classic of a game!
Before we break down our picks and strategy, here are the most notable scoring rules for FanDuel contests: four-point passing TDs and half-point PPR.
Eagles-Dolphins FanDuel Picks Week 7: NFL DFS lineup for GPP tournaments
$60,000 budget, must include at least one player from each team
MVP (1.5x points) Tyreek Hill, WR, Dolphins ($16,500)
Picking your MVP on FanDuel is easy — you simply choose the player you project to score the most fantasy points in the given game. Since we don’t pay extra for the 1.5x boost like we do in DraftKings, Hill is the obvious choice as our table-setter.
Hill’s numbers have made him look like a cheat code, and he could very well be on his way to breaking NFL single-season receiving records. He started the campaign with 39 FD points against the Chargers in L.A. and he has posted FD points totals of 26.2, 28.1, and 25.3 in three of Miami’s past four games.
With Philly surrendering the fifth-most FD points per game to wide receivers this season — and Hill averaging a cool 23.3 — don’t get cute and overthink this no-brainer of a choice.
FLEX Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Dolphins ($15,500)
We set an immediate stack with Tua and Hill, as the Eagles have been beatable through the air this season and Miami has scored 223 points in six weeks. And while he may not have the rushing and sneaking upside of Jalen Hurts, Tua has been the better passer this season.
Tua also enjoys a better offensive system around him, and therefore we feel he’s the better QB option. The MVP candidate has cleared 28 FD points twice this season and he’s coming off a solid 22.5-point effort in Week 6 against the Panthers. We have him projected for 20-plus points again this Sunday night.
FLEX AJ Brown, WR, Eagles vs. Browns ($13,500)
Remember at the start of the season when people were talking about how DeVonta Smith might be the new No. 1 receiver in Philadelphia? Yeah, that narrative fizzled out fast. Brown has been dominant over the past month, scoring 83.9 FD points over four contests despite matchups with strong defenses (@ TB, vs. WAS, @ LAR, @ NYJ).
The veteran receiver averages 16.7 FD points per game — and 20.9 per game over the past four games — and he’s facing a defense that ranks among the top 10 most generous to QBs in terms of fantasy points allowed. Look for AJB to go off under the bright Sunday night lights.
FLEX Olamide Zaccheaus, WR, Eagles ($7,500)
Ancillary stars tend to come up big in clutch spots of primetime games, and we wouldn’t be surprised in the least if Zaccheaus was the one to break free for a touchdown in this one. He did it on Monday Night Football earlier in the season, coming through with 12.8 points and more than likely helping secure DFS wins to anyone who invested in him. In a game that should feature a ton of passing, he’s a solid value in a stars-and-scrubs build.
FLEX Chase Claypool, WR, Dolphins ($7,000)
Could this be the week Claypool breaks out for Miami? We’re willing to take the chance on yes. The speedy wideout has now had a couple of weeks to learn Mike McDaniel’s offensive system, and we would be very surprised if he continues to get healthy-scratched out of games. Even one explosive downfield play and he’s well worth the $7K. A home-run hitting breakaway TD would probably net us Ws in all the FD tourneys we enter.
Best Eagles-Dolphins DFS Picks
As we have every week, we’re also listing our favorite single-game DFS plays on SuperDraft.
For those unfamiliar, SuperDraft’s DFS scoring involves point multipliers as opposed to traditional salary-capped or tiered contests. A winning lineup will likely feature a strong mix of stud fantasy contributors with 1x-1.6x boosts, as well as matchup-based sleepers with larger multipliers. Each player is assigned a scoring multiplier based on their value as determined by SuperDraft. Users can roster any player in their lineup with no restrictions.
Here are the most notable scoring rules for SuperDraft NFL contests: Half-point PPR, four-point passing TDs, two-point bonuses for 100 rushing yards, 100 receiving yards, and 300 passing yards.
MORE SUPERDRAFT DFS: How to play SuperDraft
- Champion (+50% points): Tyreek Hill, WR, Dolphins (1.5x)
- Super FLEX: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Dolphins (1.75x)
- Super FLEX: AJ Brown, WR, Eagles (1.8x)
- Super FLEX: D’Andre Swift, RB, Eagles (2.1x)
- Super FLEX: Dallas Goedert, TE, Eagles (2.35x)
We went with a similar approach with our SuperDraft lineup, but we went with all studs instead of a stars-and-scrubs approach. Goedert at 2.35x at the tail end of our FLEX build looks mouthwatering and we simply can’t go wrong with the four impact players atop our lineup.
It’s tough to select five players with an unlimited budget and only the boost system to go by — but we went with the two best wideouts and the best QB in this game as well as two upside skill-position players for the home team. Swift has cleared 100 PPR points over his past five games while Goedert has 37.9 over the past two weeks. Let’s go!
