Netflix is putting hard efforts into video games. Starting in November 2021, the company has included five titles that can be played on mobile platforms only. Later, the company added several titles with many interactive ones like Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Carmen Sandiego etc.

Netflix’s gaming division has established player gamertags and begun hiring to create a “AAA PC game,” bringing on huge figures such as former Halo head Joseph Staten. Ubisoft has even announced multiple games in development for Netflix, including an Assassin’s Creed title to accompany a new live-action series being developed by the two firms. Netflix also released other high-profile titles, such as Monument Valley and a Tomb Raider roguelike.

New Games coming to Netflix Games This August

The company has released an official blog post detailing the four new games that are being added to the service this month. These titles include Samurai Showdown, Lego Legacy: Heroes Unboxed, WrestleQuest, and Cut the Rope Daily.

Samurai Showdown

Samurai Shodown is a reboot of the classic fighting game franchise, fully reproducing the original gameplay but including current graphics and mechanics. The goal of this reboot is to recreate the gameplay of the original series while updating the mechanics to match the greatest modern fighting games. Samurai Shodown continues in the footsteps of its predecessors. In single-player, you’ll slice and dice your way through a slew of unique foes, with some cutscenes thrown in for good measure.

Lego Legacy: Heroes Unboxed

Given that LEGO is one of the world’s largest toy companies, LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed, which was developed and published by Gameloft in 2020, is a huge addition to Netflix’s gaming catalogue. Players can collect vintage and current LEGO minifigures, construct sets, travel to different regions, accomplish missions, and engage in turn-based battles. Among the minifigures, there are Chicken Suit Guy, Hot Dog Man, Pirate Princess Argenta, Santa, and Ghostbusters.

WrestleQuest

WrestleQuest is a role-playing video game published by Skybound Games and developed by Mega Cat Studios. It combines aspects of Japanese role-playing games with a pro-wrestling premise. The narrative of the game revolves around saving professional wrestling from a devious tyrant who wants to control the scripts for all wrestling events globally. Players will level up, manage a party of individuals, and accomplish side missions as they travel through the game. WrestleQuest features two champions. Muchacho Man and Brink Logan, as they compete for pro-wrestling championships.

Cut The Rope Daily

ZeptoLab, the same firm that created the original game, created Cut the Rope Daily. According to ZeptoLab, the original Cut the Rope was downloaded more than 1.6 billion times, resulting in a few sequels, books, and more. The new game releases a new puzzle every day, and you may compete with your friends by uploading your score on social media. An in-game calendar allows players to keep track of how many puzzles they’ve solved. If you keep winning, you’ll unlock new costumes for Om Nom.  Each month, the game moves players to a different in-game area.
